JUGS JUGUETA, TEDDY CORPUZ DEFY 'ROCKSTAR' STEREOTYPES: 'HINDI KAMI MAYABANG'

Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz, members of popular OPM bands Itchyworms and Rocksteddy, both agreed that they don't fit into some of the "rockstar" stereotypes.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Jugs and Teddy said that contrary to the stereotype that rockstars are womanizers and unfaithful, the two of them actually are loyal to their wives, and even to their "It's Showtime" family and bandmates.

"Sobrang loyal namin, kami ng asawa ko, kami na since 2006. Ito naman si Teddy, kasal sila since 2006," Jugs said.

"Kahit 'yung bands namin, almost same, matagal na 'yung bands namin," Teddy added.

When asked what caused the stereotype that rockstars are "babaero," Teddy said it may be due to the usual image of rockstars or musicians in the media, especially in documentaries.

"Kasi kahit 'yung mother-in-law ko eh, ang akala sa 'kin, durugista ako, parang ganu'n, umiinom, nagyoyosi, kasi 'yun 'yung nakikita nila," he said.

However, the Rocksteddy frontman said there may be some truth to frequent alcohol drinking among musicians because it's their way of bonding.

"At some point, may truth 'yung umiinom, kasi after gig, umiinom kami ng mga ka-band ko, puwede 'yun, pero hindi naman to the point na hindi ka na makatugtog, lasingan every night," he said.

Meanwhile, Jugs also said that the stereotype that rockstars are arrogant or "mayabang" are not true in their case.

"Hindi kami mayabang," he said. "Lagi ako niloloko ng asawa ko na meron kaming Itchyworms Boys Club, kasi we've been together since college pa eh."

"So, parang ang hirap 'pag lahat kami malakas boses, may sarili kaming jokes, parang ang hirap for someone na nanunuod na ang iingay namin, ang yayabang namin, but really, we were just having fun," he added.

Jugs and Teddy are among the mainstay hosts of the noontime show "It's Showtime." It airs 12 p.m. on GMA and GTV from Mondays to Saturdays.
